Join us for a fab festival of food & drink this weekend!
Well it’s the weekend! And what a weekend it’s going to be! Today and tomorrow we’re going to be giving over our glorious pub to a fantastic festival of food and drink! We’ve got the Chequers Festival going on all day tomorrow and Sunday so don’t miss it!
It’s going to be an amazing celebration of local and artisan food and drink from across Hampshire and a little further afield, as well as great live entertainment and hands-on demos and tastings for foodies of all ages.
Things get going with a local produce market open from 12 noon to 4pm tomorrow. There will be plenty of treats to try and to buy, with a fab array of delicious local fare on offer.
Head chef Ray will be firing up the BBQ both days and there will be plenty of great live music too.
Listen to the sounds of Champagne at the Blitz and home-grown talent the Eversley Brothers on the Saturday, with sets from Tony Bowen, James Dean and his band, Kenny and the Eversley Brothers once again, on the Sunday. Sit and enjoy a beer or a Pimm’s as the sun slips slowly down.
We can’t think of a better way to mark the weekend while you support great local producers and have a great day out! Read the preview in the Reading Chronicle here and see you there!
