Fillet from Award-winning butcher Aubrey Allen, this classic is paired perfectly with our wine of the month. Just the thing after a long walk, kicking the leaves about.

    Why not ask for a taste of our wine of the month? Our favourite Pinot Noir, Castel del Lupo Pinot Nero della Quercia, from the hills of Pavia in Northern Italy. We think you’ll like it!

      Halloween is just around the corner, so pop by with your little ones and pick up a pumpkin from today, carve it with your scariest face and drop it back to the pub by 6pm on Wednesday 31st Oct. Remember to take a photo and share it on our Facebook page, and we’ll be giving a prize out for the best!

        Meet the Neighbours

        Get in the Christmas spirit at The Chequers and meet your neighbours for a mulled wine. The mince pies are on us! No need to book, just dig out your best (or worst) Christmas jumper and pop down to the pub from 4pm.

          Don’t sit in and wait for Santa! Join us at the bar for a few pre Christmas Day drinks, before the craziness of the next day begins.

            Closed for the day to stuff ourselves with turkey and then gently nod off in front of the fire.

              Boxing Day

              Entertaining family and friends or just want to escape cooking and washing up duties after your Christmas Day Feast?! For the early risers we’re open from 10am for Brunch and Bloody Marys a plenty. From Midday you’ll be able to get your roast fix – we’re serving the good stuff from our main menu until 4pm and the bar will be open until 5pm.

                NEW YEAR’S EVE

                Celebrate the New Year in style at The Chequers (watching Jools Holland on your sofa with a takeaway is simply not an option!) so pop on your dancing shoes and dust off your dickie bows…

                We’re kicking off proceedings at 7pm, before sitting down for a delicious four course meal. After dinner you’re invited to join us in the bar where we’ll be turning up the dial on the party tunes, popping a few corks and partying on – no doubt with a hearty rendition of Auld Lang Syne at some point! Book your carriages for 1am, and we’ll be rustling up a few bacon sarnies for the way home.

                      If your loved one fits the bill, then foot the bill and bring them down for a slap-up meal this Valentine’s!

                      Our specials board will be dedicated to sumptuous sharing dishes, and we’ve also got fantastic selection of fine wines and Champagnes that are guaranteed to earn you extra brownie points.

                      If a twosome isn’t your thing, we have plenty of larger tables that we won’t be sawing in half for the occasion, so gather a group and join us – we promise we won’t ask any questions…

                        We’ll be open from 9.30am-11.30am for breakfast, serving our special Mother’s Day menu from 12pm to 9pm. Be sure to book early.

                          Easter Sunday is the time to bring the family to the pub for a scrumptious get together. We’ll be serving breakfast from 9.30am and our Sunday Best menu from midday.

                          Easter Monday brings you our full menu and of course a roast rollover to fix any hangover. We’ll have the bloody marys ready…
